Cold Steel Nepalese Kukri

A Kukri or Khukuri is a heavy and crooked Nepalese knife used as a weapon and equipment. It is also a traditional regimental weapon and a symbol of Gurkha fighters.

This Kukri is a large knife used both as a work tool and as a weapon. It has a heavy and curved blade, sharp on the concave side (therefore the one inside the curve), 3 to 10 centimetres wide. The weapon has a very strong symbolic meaning in the Nepalese culture: it represents the courage and the value of the warrior and also figures in the ritual objects of important festivals for example the groom wears kukri during the wedding ceremony, etc. Traditionally made full-tang (in a single piece of metal from tip to tail) in cast steel has the tang that passes through the handle and comes out to be riveted to ensure greater grip when vibrating the blow and to be used as a hammer. The classic handle is usually made of wood, ivory or water buffalo horn; in the most modern models, however, the paracord lining, eco-leather strips or with rubber or ABS cheek pads and other innovative materials is also very widespread.

The Nepalese Kukri in 440 full-tang chrome-plated stainless steelfrom the blade to the shank, is formed from a single piece of die-cast steel, this gives greater strength and stability. The grip is made of pre-formed rubber for a firmer and more stable grip, with a hole in the tail to insert a wrist strap (not supplied). The Kukri is equipped with a blade cover sheath in durable fabric with a belt loop and the blade is very sharp so it can be used to cut canes or branches so it is essential for all forest and lake activities such as hunting or fishing but for the excellent quality of the invoice is a valuable piece to add to your collection.
